The grumbling noises
echoed from ear to ear
I stood
by the side of a friend
staring aimlessly at the never-endingness beyond
The round thing kept rolling
repeating the endless cycle
How I hope
those bright yellow lights
were meant for me
A lighted hope
was flamed alive
and once again
blown dead
A flicker of hope
seeped into her eyes
as she stepped forward
and embraced you
while I stood motionless
with envy
She glanced over at me
and waved me goodbye
I could see a speck of something
that was called
warmness
in her eyes
How I hope
that
that stretched look
was meant for me
It doesn't matter
if you're old
or ugly
just meant for me
Deep in the holes of my heart
there lingered doubt
but it couldn't stop me
from continuing my belief
that you would come
just, for me
