Last night I attended a relative's wedding dinner. The place was really grant and there were a lot of lights brightening the place, which made it look romantic. Apparently the table I sat was one table away from the bride and grooms table, and I could see clearly the bride and groom(the first time).
I wore the pink dress I mentioned in an earlier post, which was my mum's. Still, it felt pretty awkward. To make matters worse, both my parents weren't present, so I went there with my grandmother, a 6 year old cousin, and my 16 year old aunt. What a 'great' group, isn't it? AnywAY, to make matters EVEN worse(You would wonder, how worse can it become?) a relative joked that I'm my parents 'representative'. I stifled a laugh at her. REALLY. It's super annoying. I was there for the whole occasion, and people kept asking me why aren't my parents there. It really is mood breaking.
On the other hand, the lovely couple was(I'm sure) having fun. When they went up stage for the wine drinking ceremony(is it a ceremony?), I noticed that the bride had changed into a black elegant night flowing gown, with a silver tie around her waist. It's very nice, but I thought the Chinese custom isn't really 'comfy' with black??(Note:black is an unlucky colour for happy occasions). Anyway, the couple was busy with the wine when I noticed that there were white dots floating in the air. actually, those 'white dots' were bubbles blown into air. Soooo romantic!!!
Well, there's a lot more but I can't write it down all, right? Oh ya, the performers were really fantastic. They sang(mostly females) and sang like they never sang before, and then a strange uncle from across my table would join them on stage and dance his uncle moves. Can you believe that?!! It's true!! (So unlucky I forgot my camera)
Well, the event ended at 10 something, nearing 11, and everyone seemed exhausted but happy for the newly wed. Best wished to the couple!!
